Music & Creative Arts

The El Cajon Corps has a lot going on, especially in music programs for youth. Kids will be able to choose from a variety of instruments when you enroll them in our music program. Take a look at some of what we provide and see what may fit for you! We welcome to to join our corps and our ministry.

Brass - The Salvation Army has a long tradition of brass bands. We strongly encourage you to come and try out a brass instrument. Beginning/Intermediate Band: Wednesdays 4:00-4:45pm.

Singing Company - A group of kids who love to sing & perform. Wednesday 5:00-6:00pm. Requirement: Grades 1st & up, attendance at Sunday performances.

Cornerstone - Teen & Young Adult Choir - Every other Sunday after churchRequirement: Grades 7 & up, attendance at Sunday performances.

Percussion - Percussion is a fantastic way to learn music and rhythm. We offer Beginning & Advanced classes. Kids will learn to play instruments such as the snare drum, cymbal, bass drum, marimba, xylophone and many more. Beginning Percussion Wednesdays 4:00-4:45pm. Drumline (Advanced Percussion) Wednesdays 6:00-6:45pm. Marimbas (Advanced Percussion) Tuesdays 4:00-4:45pm

Timbrels/Devotion in Motion - Learn new ways to express yourself in worship with movement.  Tuesdays 4:00-4:45pm

Arts & Crafts - Come explore and produce art of your own using a variety of mediums and techniques! Tuesdays 4:00-4:45pm

Youth Praise Team -  This is an opportunity to worship God through music as a part of a team. Instruments used in a praise team include piano, keyboard, guitar, bass guitar, drums, vocals and auxiliary percussion. Thursdays 4:00-5:00pm. Requirement: Grades 7 & up.

Individual Lessons - Guitar, Drum Set, Brass, Woodwind. Lessons TBD. Requirements: must commit to daily practice.
