Boredom is a thing of the past. Each week of Day Camp is a unique opportunity to learn new life skills, and a place to make new friends. For parents, Day Camp does more than just provide peace of mind that your children are well cared for, it also provides assurance that your children continue to develop their talents and abilities during the summer months. This year we have five uniquely themed weeks, with activities designed to engage, challenge and inspire all of our campers! All kids ages 5-12 are invited to join us. With capable, caring and well-trained staff, your child will spend their days learning through play and wonderful summer memories! Thanks to the generosity of local supporters, the cost of camp is just $50/week per child, and $25 for any additional siblings. This cost includes all activities, snacks and lunch!
Motivated by God's love, our program strives to develop the whole child-within their environment-to help them grow physically, mentally and socially. Day Camp can provide childhood experiences and friendships, which will benefit children for a lifetime. We consider it an honor to have your children entrusted to us and strive to continually expand and improve the care and services we offer.

MONDAY–FRIDAY, 8:30AM–4PM
$50 per week | $25/week for additional siblings
Campers will spend the day participating in activities related to the week's theme. The mornings and afternoons will be packed with all of the diverse and fun activities the Red Shield has to offer, including sports, arts and crafts, hands on materials, STEM, creative play, music and much more.
Throughout the day, campers will be separated into small groups and rotate through activities based on the theme of the week. This allows differentiation for our younger campers, and extra challenge for our older kids. During free time, meals and whole group games all campers join together for all age play.
Every week we also have Water Day, where we create our own water wonderland on the field. This includes waterslides, messy art, sensory play, sprinklers, water balloons and field games. We will also have special guests come and join us to lead activities or share about what they do, in the past this has included Heartland Fire Brigade, Critter Encounters, Search and Rescue Dogs, Kids Fitness and cooking classes. Stay tuned for the 2025 specials!
The days are long, so rest time is incorporated for all ages. After lunch play we take half an hour to read, drink lots of water, listen to audiobooks, play card games or take a nap! This essential part of our camp schedule and makes sure that our kids have plenty of energy to enjoy the whole day!
Formal activities run from 9am-3pm, with free play at the start and end of the day during check-in and check-out.
Lunch and daily snacks are included.
Safety: The safety of campers is our highest priority, this is ensured by:
• Hiring counselors who are carefully screened, background checked and complete rigorous training.
• Designing activities that suit each age group.
• Practicing good hygiene with our campers and designating restrooms specific to their group.
• High camper/staff ratios. Children will be in groups of no more than 15 children with a minimum of two staff members/group.
• Secure check-in and check-out procedures.
We also have an open campus policy, so parents/caregivers are welcome to come and see their child at camp at any time. Checking in for a visitor pass at Guest Services is required.
Chapel: The Salvation Army is a Christian church, and we have a 30 minute chapel time each day. This time includes a bible story, songs and games. Children and families from all faith backgrounds are very welcome at day camp, and this time is designed to be encouraging and fun for all campers!
Water Day: Every week includes Water Day! This is an onsite field day with water slides, water games, messy activities (foam play, giant painting) and is a highlight for all campers!
Dietary/Medical Needs: If your child has specific dietary or medical needs, please email leah.fowler@usw.salvationarmy.org to see if our program will suit your child. We do our best to accommodate all children and their needs where we are able to ensure their safety.
Tuesday Afternoons | 4:00pm-6:20pm
The fun doesn't end after Summer is over! We invite all of our families to join us for our year round programming. Every Tuesday, we offer free afterschool music programs. Beginning with free play, gym time and art opportunities, we then have dinner together before moving into music electives and group singing. Open to all children Pre-K to 17 years old, there is something for everyone!
